Vivo IPL 2017 Schedule is to start from 5th April 2017 to 21st May 2017. Opening ceremony and the finals of 2017 are scheduled to take place in Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is a society registered under The Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act 1975, having its Headquarters at BCCI, Cricket Centre, 4th Floor, Wankhede Stadium, ‘D’ Road, Churchgate, MUMBAI, 400 020, India. BCCI established and organises the domestic Twenty20 cricket competition known as The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 is the tenth IPL season and BCCI wishes to celebrate that fact by staging a succession of Opening Ceremonies and the Closing Ceremony at the relevant Venues in accordance with the Staging Agreement.
The successful Interested Party shall be obliged to stage eight Opening Ceremonies (before the first match at all home Venues of the Teams) and also the Closing Ceremony at the final Match in respect of the 2017 Season.
Any Proposal submitted by a Person which fails to satisfy the eligibility requirements set out in this RFP may be accepted or rejected by BCCI in its absolute discretion. BCCI shall not pre-judge or advise an Interested Party whether it is qualified or not.
To maintain the transparency and probity that has always been questioned during all editions of the IPL, the new guidelines require the interested parties to be companies with Rs 30 crore annual turnover, ready to pay bank guarantee of 35 percent and with no criminal record.
After the Committee of Administrators (COA) took over, the stress has been on transparency and the first steps towards attaining that is being taken after the issuing of RFP.
Opening ceremony takes place on 5th April 2017.
The defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) would be kicking things off in the 10th season, with the opening game against runner-up from the previous season Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
